Free-flow Tolling System

Autotoll is committed to develop relevant smart solutions to in line with the Government’s initiatives’ on Smart City development. Our smart solution - Free-flow Tolling System is the one with most rapid growth in the aspect of Smart Mobility.

The Free-flow Tolling System is a technology-based solution, using the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) to detect and read the tag or sensor that installed in the vehicle; and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) to detect the Vehicle Registration Marks of the vehicle. Vehicle will not need to stop at the toll booth for paying the tunnel tolls manually and it helps to improve the smooth driving experience.  

Autotoll obtained a government work contract in 2017, for Tseung Kwan O – Lam Tin Tunnel – Trial Installation and Evaluation of Free-Flow Tolling System”. In 2021 and 2022, Autotoll clinched several work contracts by the government, including the Civil Engineering and Development Department, the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department and the Transport Department, to develop the backend system; supply and install associated modification works for existing E&M systems; as well as provide the toll tags and toll collection service etc. for the Free-flow Tolling System (namely “HKeToll”).

In addition, the motorists can use the website or mobile app of Free-flow Tolling System “HKeToll” to settle the tunnel tolls with the electronic payment means, and it enables the checking and management of the account in easier way.
