The International ICT Expo organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council is one of the largest information technology exhibitions in Asia. The 18th was successfully held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre recently. This year, Autotoll has partnered with the Smart City Consortium (SCC) and the Intelligent Transportation Systems of Hong Kong (ITSHK) to showcase a series of innovative R&D projects, which attracted many industry insiders, government departments and the public to visit for four consecutive days.
The Smart City Consortium (SCC) has set up a "Smart Life Pavilion" with an area of nearly 2,000 square feet, exhibiting smart life products and technologies developed by a number of Hong Kong companies, ranging from outdoor to indoor. Autotoll exhibited a variety of smart living and environmental solutions, including "Smart Property Management" and "Smart Waste Management". "Smart Property Management" is a one-stop mobile application tailored for housing estates or commercial building customers, with optional combinations of functions. "Smart Waste Management" can collect real-time information on recycling bins to improve the quality and efficiency of environmental management monitoring.
The Intelligent Transportation Systems of Hong Kong (ITSHK) also set up an exclusive pavilion to showcase a variety of smart mobility and digital solutions together with the four major smart transportation companies. Autotoll was invited to exhibit our own electronic toll collection system, especially the self-developed “Free-flow Tolling System” and supporting facilities. We ensure that the solution can provide customers with professional services in terms of design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and training courses. There are also interactive quiz games and souvenirs on the site, allowing the public to deepen their understanding of Autotoll, Smart Mobility and Smart City.
What’s more, Karel Au, our Chief Information Officer is honored to participate in a symposium hosted by the Intelligent Transportation Systems Society of Hong Kong (ITSHK) on the 14th (Friday) with the theme of "Smart Mobility and the Digitalization of Transportation". A group of government officials, industry elites and representatives from academia attended and discussed how to use technology to help Hong Kong develop smart mobility and promote the development of the industry.
